Wedding preps at The Pearl Manila Hotel

The Pearl Manila Hotel is a good choice if you are looking for a low budget hotel near St.Pancratius Chapel (Paco Park Church). Good location and near LRT1.

Tanya decided to get their 2 bedroom suite for their Wedding preparations and booked it for 2 nights. The staff were all nice and friendly but the hotel needs some serious renovation. Plus. they have a 13th floor, how's that possible??

Here are some photos taken inside the room.

Of course we visited her on the first night. We also went to their Oyster bar to drink few beers!

The night before the wedding!

Best wishes Tanya and Mike! :)

Boracay Summer 2013 l Day 3-5

May 11,2013

We woke up a little too late since we had our own time. No activities for the day. Xave and i decided that we try the calamansi muffin at Real Coffee, while Mike and Tanya went to Starbucks and the rest stayed inside our room.

We went to Andoks and bought our lunch so we can bring it to Puka beach. We rented a tricycle and paid Php200 for the ride.

Puka Beach was the same. There were few tourists that day.

After going back, we were already allowed to transfer to our new room. Afterward,. they decided to go to Mcdonalds while we bought a small cake as a surprise for Jes to celebrate Mothers day.

We also cooked our food so we can stay within our budget. Mike cooked pork steak for lunch and chicken afritada for dinner.

After dinner we decided to go back to the bar since it'll be our last night to party! ( Liquor Ban - May 12, 2013)

May 12,2013

We decided to eat at Smoke Resto. If you are in a tight budget, then Smoke Resto has affordable menu.
I ordered Beef Salpicao, and yes, it tasted yumeeeh!

By afternoon we walked to the farthest side of Station 1. There's a rocky pathway leading to the other side of the beach and you will get past another Grotto.

It was a 2 hour walk coming from Station 2. We were so exhausted! After going back to our resort, we went to the market to buy something to cook. We also bought few hard drinks so we can still drink inside our room. :)

May 13, 2013

Election day. It was our last day so we decided to rest inside the room the entire day. By 12 noon, we already checked out so we can arrived at 3PM at Kalibo.

Alright, someone took my bag at the airport. I was in shock and i panicked since my DSLR was on that bag.
I found someone holding the same eco bag and asked if i can check it. Grrr. It's mine for heaven's sake!!
They didn't even apologize! how rude!!!!

Thanks Tiger Airways for the cheap tickets. :)

Boracay Activities 2013 l Day 2

May 10, 2013

It was around 7:30 when we woke up for breakfast. We went to Sheena's eatery and ordered their "silogs" while waiting for the Kuya who will assist us for the day.

If you are planning to go to Boracay, make sure to find someone who offers cheap yet funtastic activities. Before this trip, i've read a lot of blogs and forums, thanks PEX and GT, i found Kuya Ron.

First, we went in front of Astoria to avail our Parasailing package for 6 except me. Yes, i can't. I have Acrophobia. I can't stand to see myself exposed to heights. hahaha.

I've heard and read that Parasailing activity costs Php1500 or more but Kuya Ron gave it to us at Php850 each. Cool!!!After paying all the fees, we rode the speed boat then off to the boat we are to use for our Parasailing. (our talaga??)

safety first!

up

up

and away!!
They said it was an amazing experience being flown like a kite and seeing the magnificent view above.
Nuff of that.

After parasailing, we availed their ATV package. We rode the van going to Park. We rented their ATV's for an hour and paid Php250 each. We did a road test before we started going to Tanawin deck which costs 100++ pesos entrance fee.

Nothing much to do up there. Won't do this again next time. Haha. We headed to D'Talipapa after. We should've tried their paluto had it not been sooo expensive. So.. Andoks it is for lunch. lol. We can always eat at Seaside, Macapagal, right??

We went back to our room and decided to rest while Anak, Jes and Tanya went out to swim and stroll. When we woke up it was already past 4:00pm nice. wasted time. We immediately joined them. Hahha..

All you can eat buffets are really popular in Boracay. Just don't eat too much rice to enjoy everything.
For dinner we decided to slash Php300 on our budget!

To end the day, i joined my officemates at OJ's while my friends went to Curtina to party! :)

For cheap accomodation: Villa Simprosa Resort

Boracay Summer 2013 l Day 1

May 9 2013

Our much awaited Boracay summer escapade slash celebration of Tanya and Mike's wedding, finally!

jes, nak, nan
xave, me and tanya

First of, i'd like to thank Cebu Pacific and Sea Air for cheap tickets Caticlan and Kalibo. And thank you so much Sea Air for, as always, cancels my flights, but i am happy i was able to rebook our flight from May 12 to 13! plus one day for us! :)

It was announced that Liquor ban will start from May 9 until May 13, which was Election day. (Kalurkey)
What are we gonna do at Boracay?? We even paid for 10kls check in baggage so we can bring hard drinks to atleast satisfy our vacation. Good thing it was lifted last May 8. Thanks to Malacanang. :)

bored to death

Our flight to Caticlan was delayed for 2 hours ( it was my first time to ride in a "propeller type" plane. Feels like riding in PNR. ahhaha.

propeller type plane bound to caticlan
Cebu Pacific offers fun in the skies game and I won! haha!! It's like a tablet cover, i dunno. It fits my netbook!

It was good, we no longer need to ride the van, just a tricycle away from the port. We should've just walked. lol. Same thing, paid 175 for environmental and whatever fee that was, then 30 pesos for fast craft ferry.
welcome to boracay!!

We then hailed a tricycle and paid 20 pesos each going to D'Mall then walked our way going to Villa Simprosa. We arrived like around 6:00pm, sunset!

sunset = no filters, no edits, came straight from my iphone

We stayed at Villa Simprosa Boracay. (there's a separate post for this) there were some unneeded stress but everything went fine.

Everyone was really hungry but we decided to rest first and change to somewhat, errr, more appropriate clothes. lol. Mike and Tanya went out and ate at Sbarro, while we, Jes, Nan, Anak and Xave decided to stroll around first. For my first timer friends, (i won't be mentioning your names) we strolled and went to Jonah's.
jes and her avocado shake
I'm not sure but i don't think we ate dinner. lol Next thing i know we went to OJ's Bar for some Beer and Booze!

Coming up next: Our Day 2. :)

Villa Simprosa Boracay 2013

Villa Simprosa is next to Shenna's guesthouse and Tans Guesthouse. They have their own grocery store, mind you, which was very convenient for us.

We were given the Elynor room, located at the second floor. The room was clean with 2 large beds, which can fit 7 people, (we removed the small cabinet in the middle) flat screen tv, cabinets, small fridge and private C/R.

this can fit 7 people

clean cr

But please, i will never ever reserve that room again. The aircon was blowing, yes, but wasn't blowing cold air! I wasn't able to really sleep for 2 nights because i always woke up just to get a paper so i can fan myself. We kept on asking them if they can fix the A/C but i guess that the super power it can give us. I insist on letting us transfer to another room and gave them another day.

It was really hot inside the room. I then again asked them to transfer us the next day. Since we were really frustrated, the lady called her manager and asked if we can. Good thing, the room on the first room will be vacated by 2:00PM.

What's best about transferring downstairs was, the A/C was blowing cold winds and we can use the kitchen and fridge for free!

We paid 3500 each night and stayed for 4 night! I would really recommend Villa Simprosa and will be staying there again. There were misunderstandings yes, but everything turned just fine and perfect for us.
