Yes, this is a travel blog but I am giving this space to a schoolmate, that I may not have known her but I am hoping that justice will prevail.
Last Wednesday, a victim who was identified as Khristine Dawn Concepcion, was shot dead by two men
upon boarding a passenger jeepney along with other passengers when the suspects
declared a holdup as the vehicle reached the corner of Rizal Avenue and
Tambunting Street in Sta. Cruz at around 4 a.m.
The girl was Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (BLM) - BS Tourism cum laude graduate, was working at the Dusit Hotel in Makati. (News said it's Dusit Hotel but my cousin works (OJT) at Dusit and she said no)
Khristine died from a gunshot wound in her head when she refused to
hand over her valuables to the armed suspects who declared a holdup
inside a jeepney last March 6.
Chief Superintendent Alex Gutierrez, Manila Police District Director,
said the suspect, identified as Melvin Balajadia, 29, was taken in
Tacloban City where he had gone into hiding.
The report submitted to Lim said Balajadia initially decided to
surrender to Senior Superintendent Roderick Mariano, MPD-Station 7
commander, and Barangay (village) Chairman Renato Jimenez of Tambunting
after his father Alvino was arrested for power pilferage.
He identified the other suspect as Gerald Camua, who he claimed was the one who shot the victim.
Balajadia said Camua, 27, remained in hiding. He added that
killing was not part of their plan when they held up the jeepney
passengers.
Meanwhile, Lim ordered that appropriate charges be filed against
Camua and Balajadia. Both were said to be members of the notorious
“Sigue-Sigue Sputnik Gang” and residents of Tambunting in Sta. Cruz,
Manila.
The funeral parlor is now under investigation for allegedly disrespecting the body of Khristine. According to a Philippine Star
report, relatives of Kristine Dawn Concepcion who went to Universal
Funeral Homes in Sta. Cruz, Manila to identify the body, they were surprised and shocked to see her body without any cloth covering her.

I pray that the family will find justice. Rest in peace.
May she rest in peace. That's why I prefer that we have death row eh, di kasi natatakot ang mga kriminal makulong kasi pwede naman tumakas. Sa Saudi nga brutal yung parusa, dapat din siguro dito din. Tsk tsk tsk.
Onga eh. Halos kapitbahay lang din kasi namin sila.
We talked to the father of the witness who brought her to the hospital before she died and he said that there was no resistance or refusal to give her bag to the robber. Out of shock she looked at the robber after declaring hold up and was shot pointblank.
And yes she didnt work for Dusit. It was Intercontinental Hotel Group in RCBC Plaza in Makati as Reservations Agent.
